Our First Trip of the Summer

We had a great time in Virginia Beach.  After my niece graduated from Cox High School we all spent time on the beach just relaxing!  We got to kayak in the bay and the ocean and see both sharks and dolphins!  It was great to see family and friends and just revisit my hometown!  I really miss it some days but I love Florida too!  Here are some summer pictures so far!  Our next journey will be back to the beach but closer to home!

I sure hope Gibby and Goody are having a great time up north!

Kaylen, the graduate with my father! (with an advanced diploma)

Congrats to Kaylen and Robbie!

Ryan and Robbie playing a classic!

Cousins at the pool!

The view from our rental!

Ashlee, Ryan's other cousin!

Now that is a grill! We even took it with us to the community pool to keep it all cooking!

Ryan worked at the snack shack with Katie!

This is when I really missed home!  I love the sunsets on the Bay!

The Cheasapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel

Another beautiful sunset.

Yes, sharks from the very bay we swim in...we saw 7 caught over the last 3 days!

Great time with some old friends!

I don't think Ryan realizes that crabbing right next to your own feet may not be a great idea!

Fishing and swimming...?

Of course, we fit in some volleyball on the farm!

We had some great food and all fresh from the garden!

Time for the chickens to go to bed!

Thank you to Mr. Fischer

We got to spend a few great hours listening to Mr. Robi "Bob" Fischer tell his story about his personal childhood memories.  Mr. Fischer is a survivor of the Terezin Concentration Camp in Czechoslovaki.  He was able to share his memories with us and bring our study of the Holocaust to life.  He was in the camp at our age (from 7-10) so it was easy for him to make connections with us and some of his stories since he told the story from a child's perspective.

Luncheon, Art and Music Night and More!

We still have so much going on and only a few days remain for the Apes!  Last week we had Art and Music Night.  I saw some great artwork and then I was entertained by some Apes in chorus and ORFF!  What a great night!  We also sent home the final luncheon invitation!  We hope that every "Ape" will have at least one parent in attendance! We will hold our luncheon on Monday June 4th at 11:30!

Volume City is coming along!

We are still working hard in rooms 71 and 73 with our Volume City.  Each group has to create a city using square numbers, multiples of 7, composite numbers and prime numbers and more.   Here is our progress!

Lots of Congratulations for the Apes!

Congrats to Hannah, Rachael, Saejin and Ann for representing Beauclerc in our 5th Grade Honors ceremony last night!  They were there as part of the top 5% of 5th graders in all of Duval county!

Congrats also to Abey and to Kevin for earning the title of Star Student for this week!  Keep up the great work guys!

Thank you Junior Achievement and Mr. Joe!

We had a great day with Mr. Joe Salinger!  He taught us how important it is to learn all about Science, Math, Technology and Engineering for many job opportunities.  We discussed and even built a web to show how our community works together to be successful and how much we all need each other!
