STAR Students!

Congrats to Dillyn, Nygel and Miguel!  They all earned the title of Star student by working hard and completing all class and home work! Keep it up guys!

I am late with some Star Students but I still want to celebrate their success!  Last week we honored Branden, Parker, and Nikolas for their hard work!  This week we get to add David, Maelys, and Elma!  Great job everyone and keep making great choices!

Math Strategies for Parents!

Yay!  Parents I heard your concerns about the math strategies coming home and I have added a new tab to the blog. Click on the tab above titled "Math Strategy Information" to read all about conceptual math strategies.  You can even find a link to view some of the strategies your child already understands for some basic operations!  I hope this helps with all of your concerns!

Star Students!

We had our first star students of the week!  These 3 worked so hard all week and are very deserving!

Division Strategies!

We have already started to discuss division strategies and I am so excited!  In all of my classes I was able to see some great math discussions and some great strategies!  We are going to have a great math year!

Summer Fun!

We just got back from our East Coast tour!  We had a chance to visit Sylva, NC in the mountains on our journey to Virginia.  After NC, we went to Radford, VA where Ryan was a flower girl in her cousins wedding.  Finally we stopped for a couple nights at a KOA campground in Virginia Beach, VA.  I am sure we will be back there next year!  Ryan and her cousin even caught a 10 pound fish in the Chesapeake Bay!  They were able to feed us all for dinner with one catch!

In Virginia Beach, we use tunnels a lot instead of bridges.  We travel under the water, I feel much safer!
