Forces!

We have started exploring different forces in science this week.  Building ramps at different heights to test how the height will affect the motion of objects and testing different surfaces and friction..we are having fun.  And guess what, we are learning at the same time!

Go Kim and Kate!

I ran into a couple of "Apes" this weekend at our local YMCA.  It was awesome to see their moves on the court!  Can't wait until I get to see Raha too!  Oh and the next Smackdown...

I will post the pictures on Monday so you will see them in action!

Welcome Ms. Grasley!

Dear Parent and Guardians,
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Rebeca Grasley and I am a senior at the University of North Florida. I am studying Elementary Education and will be graduating in April with a bachelor’s degree. Before I can get there, I am finishing my final semester in the classroom as an intern.
It is a pleasure to have been placed at Beauclerc Elementary School for my internship experience. I am looking forward to working under the mentorship of two very determined and successful teachers. I am certain I will be learning so much from Ms.Goodman and Mr.Gibbons as well as your children!
I will be spending the next week getting familiar with the classroom as well as the students. All of them have their own unique gifts and talents. I hope to bring my own into the classroom in order to put my knowledge into practice and it is my goal to help facilitate the success of the students from this experience as well.
While this letter is only a brief introduction, I hope that each of you will feel comfortable with my role in your child’s class. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me through Ms.Goodman. I hope to have the opportunity to meet all of you over the next few months.
                                                                                                       Cordially,
                                                                                                      Rebeca Grasley

It can move tissue paper and pepper!  What else?

What are some colors in white light?

All in the name of science!

Science Fair!

It is that fun time of year again...Science Fair!  Please send in $3 with your child to purchase a backboard for the fair.  The $3 goes directly to the cost of the board which is much cheaper than the regular store price.  The money is due by Friday January 11th.  We must order them all at one time to get this price so please send the money on time.  Once the order has been placed there is no way to add to the order.  The final project is due on January 21st, you child will have a timeline, which has been discussed in class, to help keep him/her on track.
