What an amazing week!

We had a great week!  Today we discussed how scientists measure length and we actually practiced that skill!  We had fun on the basketball court this entire week and we are actually looking like we understand the game already!  We will keep working!  We are learning to work as groups and with partners in math and science which will help us on the court too!  I can already see this is going to be a great year!

Check out Axel trying to block the shot!

Hands up on defense!

A little needed instruction on the court!

We work too!  We are measuring length around the room!

And then we eat our lunch after playing hard!

Great team work on and off the court!

See Mom I am wearing my glasses! And guess what I can see better too!

What a wonderful day of math and science!

We are reviewing some of our multiplication strategies from 4th grade to get our math brains back in gear!  I am so happy to see some great strategies and I see students learning from each other!  This is what math workshop is all about!  We all learned a new way to multiply 26 X 35 after visualizing our story problem.

Science time was great today as well.  We began discussing how scientists investigate by starting with the questions they ask.  As a team we discussed given questions to decide if it was a scientific question or not!  We had some good discussions, I am happy to see such great cooperative learning already!

Thanks Gavin!!!

I did not forget!  Thanks to Gavin and Mom for stopping by to wish us a good year with our new Apes!

Fun Pictures!

I found some pictures from July 4th in Fernandina with the kids having fun! I also found more pictures from Virginia.  We had a chance to visit my Grandma, Meme, while we were up there!  I also found a couple that are just for fun!

Riding around with Caden!

Just found this and had to post!

Ryan and her cousin Ashlee!

Ryan, her Great Grandma and Mommy! (My Grandma)

Ryan laying out with Ashlee! It didn't last long, she is only 6!

Meme (my grandma), Mommy (me), Mommin (Ryan's Grandma) and Ryan.

Now Ryan with my parents and my Grandma in Virginia.

4th of July with Kyler!

Celebrating the 4th with Daddy!

Sparkler fun! And Mommy got to try things with her camera to catch it all!

More Fun Around Jacksonville!

We had so much fun in Fernandina Beach, I will post some pics soon.  Here are some pictures from around Jacksonville.  There is so much to do during the summer.  We got to see the Jacksonville Suns play and Ryan got lots of autographs!  We also took a quick visit to the zoo.  The Happy Feet 4D movie was so fun!  We had lots of fun until Ryan experienced her first bee sting. Then the day turned scary for a bit!  She is fine now and we know she is like Mommy when it comes to bee stings, we swell quite a bit but it will go away eventually!
