Luncheon and STAR Students!

Thanks to all of our Ape Parents for coming to our luncheon!  We had a blast, passed on some good information about academics and upcoming luncheon.  Thanks for the awesome cake and all of the desserts!  And congrats to our Star Students, they both worked hard to earn the title!  Keep it up Olivia and Kate!

Reading and Math Carnival!

What a great night!  Thanks to everyone who came out to have some fun with math and reading games!  I hope everyone learned something new and fun!

Fractions and Clouds!

We have been working with weather and climate in science and just started our fractions unit with a cool game!  We had the chance to create the correct conditions to see the water condense inside a small container.  We discussed habitats and the general climate that exists in these habitats and we were able to determine which cup could represent each habitat.  We will continue to learn about climate zones and reviewing habitats. 

In math we will be adding fractions with like and unlike denominators using our mental math skills.  We are actually playing a game called Roll Around the Clock which allows us to add fractions using movements around a clock!

STAR STUDENTS!!!

Congratulations to Zoe and Vick!  They both had work done, turned in homework and stayed on top of their responsibilities!  Great work from 2 great Apes!

Weather Tools and the Water Cycle!

We had a guest, Gretta from Tree Hill, come and discuss the water cycle and ways to conserve water on Monday!  We even made a cloud...well a model of a cloud!

In the classroom we made posters to teach each other about important weather tools!  We are having fun and lately had no interesting weather to report...just sunny, happy weather!

Ape Shirts!!

Don't forget to bring in your $5 for your Ape Shirt!!  These are great for class events and field trips!  First come, first serve on sizes so bring in your money as soon as possible, they are going fast!

Congrats to our Star students last week!  They both worked so hard to earn the weekly title!

We worked on some story problems using division and learned about weather tools in class today!

Then we danced the afternoon away at our PTA dance!  The PTA thanks all of you who showed your support this week by joining and volunteering!  They do so much for our kids and they are awesome!  Thanks, the kids had a blast!
