Play Day Fun!

What a great day put on by the coaches, we had a blast! Thanks for the ice pops too, PTA! Big thanks to Ms. Leverett for the dance lessons also, now we will look awesome at our dance!
Go Ian!

Don't forget the ball girls!

Can teamwork can include dragging your partner?

I thought you were to carry the ball with your stomach, not your face! I guess it works Mitchell!

Then we were entertained by the Apes with Mitchell break dancing...

Bailey spinning until she is dizzy...

and Crystal doing "the worm!" We have some talented Apes!

The Gibbon/Peck Apes!

We cheered for you by the way!

Next the Goodman/Peck Apes!

Perfect ending with dancing.  Thanks Ms. Leverett!

And Mrs. Peck can lead the pack too!

Science Fair Explosions!

We have started to experiment with our science materials!  Looks like the apes are having so much fun!

This one almost launched the entire canister!

It seems like all fun and games, but we are measuring and recording our data too!

Relaxing was fun, now back to work!

I am sure we all had a great long weekend.  I enjoyed camping with friends and family for Easter!  It was nice but I can't wait to get back to class.  Don't forget the luncheon will be on Friday, make sure you have reached your goal of 29 books.  The time may be adjusted this time due to our Play Day schedule so stay posted!  There will be a lot of 5th grade events coming up so make sure to stay informed with our blogs!
This was our home for the weekend!

We watched beautiful sunsets every night...

Had sack races in the evening...

Roasted marshmellows for dessert...

Of course an egg hunt...

Coloring eggs...

and my proud moment, Ryan helping your friend find an egg!
We had such a great week and I can't wait for more! We have gathered a lot of science information on physical and chemical changes, now to test our ingredients! We have our mentos, Alka Seltzer, film canisters and bottles...now the fun part!  We may need more soda so stay posted!

Let's check out our baseball plays from last week! What fun!

Way to keep your eye on the ball!

Good stop Natavia!

Tie goes to the runner, right?

Is that good for a Diet Coke?

Great catch Trevor!

Congratulations Ian! I have never seen anyone earn blue and purple belts in the same day! You are amazing!

SCIENCE FAIR IS HERE!

We will be working on the science fair projects in class and we have decided on our topics.  We will be working with different soaps to test bubbles in some groups and others will work with Alka-Seltzer and Mentos!  We will be going through a lot of trials during the next 2 weeks so we will need a lot of Alka-Seltzer, any donations will be greatly appreciated!  I will supply the different liquids and the dish soap.  We will get started right away on Monday, can't wait to find out our results!

Thank you to those of you who have already sent in your $3.00 for the science fair backboards.  We will be building our backboards very soon so please send in your money as soon as possible!

I am so Proud!

The apes in both rooms 71 and 73 worked so hard today!  I am so proud of you.  Most of us remembered to use our reference sheets and even check our work!  Tomorrow is more math!  Let's prove how smart we have become!
