Hot Dog Feast Last Week!

Thank you for all of your support for our classroom, your children and me coming into 5th grade.  Friday was a great day and we enjoyed everyone of you visiting.  We look forward to our next luncheon in April (due to spring break).

My Busy Weekend!

I spent most of my weekend with Ryan and cleaning the house.  On Saturday my mom called to tell us that she had two gators visiting her pond.  One is about 7 feet long.  The trapper came out to catch them and only got the small one so far!  Ryan and I even stayed the night to see them catch the gators.  I will try to load the video later so you can see him being captured.  Our friend will be relocated into an area he can live without human neighbors!

Ready for a great week!

Ryan had her official birthday party this weekend.  It was fun to watch her on the zip lines flying through the air.  She is so brave and the kids all had fun.  I got to relax a bit and now I am ready for a great week.  Time to wrap up energy and keep moving with geometry!

Congratulations Star Students!

Congratulations to Dar'yn and Gavin!  Both boys worked so hard this week and showed great work ethic!  It was great to honor their hard work today.  We really enjoy having both of you in class!  Keep up the great work!

Crazy Hair Day!

We had so much fun today with crazy hair day!  Some of the apes were hard to recognize. Great support and school spirit!  Don't forget to support our Student Council with the art supply collection.  They are collecting art supplies to donate to Wolfson's Children's Hospital.  We have until next Friday to collect.

Light Energy!

The apes got a chance to use a prism to explore light energy and then we colored water to see how light would behave.  Adding salt to the water enabled us to see a lot more in the water. We were able to see the refraction and the rainbow created with the prism.  Using the water they all got to see the light pass through the water, the reflecting of light on the foil and the actual beams of light through the water.  We could see the beams bending through the water when the light was directly shining on the cup!  We could even tell that the other colors of light were absorbed into the blue water so only the blue came through onto the white paper. We have gotten to explore potential, kinetic, sound, light and heat energy!  We will soon discuss renewable and nonrenewable resources and then move onto matter!  I see lots of fun ahead!
More fun at skate station! I can't wait for the next skating event. We had a chance to race, skate and eat all in one night!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

We had so much fun at skate station! Our class even won the pizza party for having the most participation!  Way to go!
